Amanda Marie Lackey is the gal behind Amanda Marie Portraits + Styling. She began her photography career in 2008, and has recently incorporated styling into her business after interning and working with Anthropologie. Her favorite part of her job is that she gets to live out daily some of the two things she loves most: love and fashion. While she enjoys almost all things pretty and appreciates a rockin’ pair of high heels, her upmost praise is in the Lord. She gives Him credit daily and is incredibly thankful He allows her to work in such a beautiful way. Amanda’s work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, Brides of North Texas, Green Wedding Shoes and Grey Likes Weddings.
When she’s not editing behind the computer or photographing a lovely couple, you can find her hanging out in her favorite city of Fort Worth. In her spare time, she enjoys nearby coffee shops, decorating her home, and strolling the isles of Target at least twice a week for any and every unnecessary item. She is currently enjoying newlywed life with her husband Tyler, and their snorring one-eared cat, Olivia.
Amanda is so excited to be collaborating with the talented, funny, and warm spirited Shalyn in The Glow Workshop. Her hopes are that attendees learn from her mistakes, can grow in their talents of photography, and walk away from the workshop feeling inspired.
Shalyn Nelson is the photographer and blogger behind Love, The Nelsons and So Shay. After photographing family, friends, and colleagues in the corporate world as a hobby, her husband surprised her with a Canon 5D, which then quickly lead her to take a leap of faith into a new career path. Shalyn has a passion for chasing the happy and capturing the heart stopping moments. She has an insatiable longing to share her heart, her journey, and her faith in the Lord.
Shalyn has been featured on Wedding Chicks, Green Wedding Shoes, Elizabeth Anne Designs, and her gold office was recently featured on Apartment Therapy. When she isn’t photographing, Shalyn can be found adventuring around Austin with her husband Drew, renovating her home, playing sports, having dance parties in her living room, eating Sour Patch Kids, cuddling with her two puptastic pomeranians, Piper and Furlee, and her precious yet spike-tacular hedgehog, Hattie.
Shalyn is PUMPED to be teaming up with the insanely inspiring, beautiful, and bubbly Amanda Marie. She hopes that she can motivate girls to spread their wings, take flight, and GLOW both personally and professionally, and of course, pick up some of her awesome dance moves.
